Ever wonder how to sell a television pilot? Do you have to be on a writing staff to sell a pilot? What is the difference between selling a pilot via a pitch or getting a pilot optioned? What is the difference between a take and a pitch?

If you ever wondered about these questions, this 3 week clinic is the course for you. Jeane Phan Wong sold four pilots before getting hired as a writer in a room in television. Hear her story and learn about pitching as someone from her perspective because there's a definite difference in how an experienced high level writer can sell a show versus an emerging writer. While there are no rules, there are some rules.

Sign up for the webinar to attend and audit, or the clinic to workshop the first five minutes of your pitch.

This 3 Week Clinic Will Cover:

  • The difference between a take and a pitch
  • Structure of a pitch
  • Best practices
  • Zoom v. in person pitches
  • Examples of pitches that have sold
  • Feedback on the first 5 minutes of your pitch **Writers who signed up for the clinic only.

More about
Jeane Wong
Writer
Rideback Circle, WGA Captain, SANDOKAN, AZNBBYGRL

A child of Vietnam War immigrants, Jeane is Vietnamese-Chinese. She was raised Buddhist in the San Gabriel Valley with stints in Orange County and a Mormon town in Nevada. Growing up, she developed a sweet tooth as a child working at her parents’ bakery. She grew up on a steady diet of Asian folklore, Sailor Moon, and weekly comic books. After interning in politics, getting certified as a First Responder, and a stint working at an oncology lab, she was on a pre-law public healthcare path. But this work convinced her to live by her favorite Han Solo line "Never tell me the odds" and dive into her real passion: Hollywood.

Jeane is a published author, journalist, and podcaster. Jeane has sold numerous pilots, a feature, and has experience producing television from prep to post. She staffed on Freemantle's SANDOKAN and consulted for Freeform's pilot AZNBBYGRL and for Mattel. She’s currently part of Rideback Circle and is a WGA Captain. Jeane has worked in different genres but her writing skews a tongue in cheek POV and dry wit. Jeane also has experience on the other side of the development in indie filmmaking at Uncommon Voices Collective. She loves character studies, love triangles, and big worlds. When not writing, Jeane is a cat mom to Gabby Soprano and a breakfast burrito sommelier.
