Verticals - the new format on the scene. If you haven't heard, Verticals are content designed to be watched on your smartphone in short episodes. They've exploded onto the scene, and we'll probably all be watching them within the year.
Now is a perfect time to get involved with this new format - to learn how to write them, get a good sample under your belt, and be ready for when the opportunity knocks. This four week class is specifically designed to teach you how to write in this format, and to guide you through writing your sample series.
This Four Week Class Will Cover:
- Choosing a concept that works for a vertical series
- Developing characters and conflicts to keep viewers engaged
- Structuring episodes and the series overall
- Feedback on your material (concept, characters, outline and first 10 episodes)
Isabel Dréan is a screenwriter, director, producer, and digital visionary based in Los Angeles. She began her career in horror and psychological thrillers before pivoting to Christmas movies — a shift that transformed her trajectory, leading to five of her scripts being produced in just 18 months.

Now, as microdramas and premium vertical series rise globally, Isabel continues to lead the charge. She leverages her deep understanding of audience behavior, platform-native formats, and emerging monetization models to guide writers, producers, and studios through the evolving entertainment landscape. She is also the founder of THE HUB, a curated global network connecting filmmakers, producers, and financiers, which has already generated shopping agreements, co-productions, and career-changing collaborations.
She continues to develop features, series, and innovative digital projects across genres — showcasing her ability to merge traditional filmmaking with next-generation formats and her dedication to bold, compelling storytelling.
