ELEVATE YOUR MANUSCRIPT
with
Roadmap’s Director of Authors’ Programs
Selene Castrovilla.
During the last year, Selene Castrovilla has helped over a dozen authors get signed and she is now excited to pass her expertise on to you!
This program includes:
- YOUR UNIQUE CRITIQUE: Selene will read ten pages of your manuscript and provide you with a thirty-minute critique in a Zoom roundtable setting
- PARTICIPATE IN ALL CRITIQUES: You will also be able to observe and learn from the critiques she provides to other authors in the program
- PEER REVIEW AND FEEDBACK: While there is no obligation to read other authors' pages, you are encouraged to do so and to share notes with your peers.
Make 2022 the year you perfect your manuscript’s pages and get it out there!
Selene Castrovilla is the award-winning and critically acclaimed author of fifteen books. Jacqueline Woodson, National Book Award winner, calls her “a writer worth watching.” Her latest book SEEKING FREEDOM: THE UNTOLD STORY OF FORTRESS MONROE AND THE ENDING OF SLAVERY IN AMERICA has received a starred Booklist review. Selene holds an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School and a BA in English from New York University. She loves championing fellow authors and helping them reach their publishing potential. When Selene received her MFA from The New School she realized that she became a stronger writer not only from critiques of her work but from studying others’ work and listening to her instructor’s feedback.
Working with Roadmap has been a real pleasure and a treasure trove of good writing. I attend many writers' conferences and workshops and have gotten lots of pitches. I find that the authors who have been vetted and referred to me by Roadmap are very talented, much more than at other venues. I have signed one author who I met through Roadmap and submitted her work to publishers. But there have been many more who have the talent that I am looking for but rarely find. I hope to be doing more work with Roadmap in the future.

After registering, your confirmation email will include a link for you to access your syllabus for the program, which will include any prep work & resources, class dates & times, join links, assignments, and other instructions.
All interactive sessions are conducted face-to-face via video conferencing software Zoom. While the ability to call in by phone does exist, we strongly recommend taking full advantage of the face-to-face nature of these programs, so you should plan to attend your sessions in front of a computer or stationary tablet at a desk or table in a well-lit room. All Zoom sessions are recorded and distributed to the participating writers so everyone can be fully present in the session and still have a record to review for notes if needed.
