Strategy Call

Summary

At the beginning of the month, you'll meet with James Moorer to review your Top Tier Evaluation. 

Coverage/Consult Combo

Summary

You will send your sample script to the exec recommended by James based on your Strategy Call. The exec will first send you written notes, and you will implement their notes (with "Track Changes" on so they can see what you've done) before sending your rewrite back to the exec.

Coverage/Consult Combo

Summary

 After the exec reads the new draft, you will then have a 30-minute call with them to discuss their notes and any additional changes they recommend. You will also practice your 3-min. pitch of the project.

Coach Tiffany's Pitch Checkup

Summary

Audit a session of at most eight (8) writers in our Step 2: Marketing Intensive as they practice the pitches they've been going out with & workshop their pitches with notes from Director of Competitions, Tiffany Yarde. Here, you'll get tips on pitching, be able to experience more examples pitches in action, and cheer on your fellow writers! Following the pitch workshop, if there is time, we will open up to Q&A.

Tiffany Yarde graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a B.A. in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. Having been raised in public housing by Bajan immigrants has led Tiffany to write about culturally diverse characters struggling with self-acceptance. Tiffany was a fellow in the inaugural class of the Creative Corridor Program and recently co-wrote the short film Bon Voyage which premiered in NYC as part of the Women's Weekend Film Challenge. She also wrote the Tubi Original Film, Dress For Success. When not developing content that challenges the monolithic perception of the "Black experience," Tiffany enjoys spending time with her husband and fantasizing about the day when they will be able to kick their 5 children out so they can travel the world.

Verbal Pitch Roundtable

You will take turns delivering your 5-minute verbal pitch to an industry professional in an online roundtable setting. Following your pitch, the exec will give you verbal feedback on what worked and suggestions for further improvement. If there’s any time left at the end after everyone has pitched, we’ll open it up to general Q&A.

Panel with Top Tier Mentors

James will invite a panel of 3x writers from our Top Tier Program to discuss the process of the Career Writer Program and offer advice on goals and getting the most out of the program. 

Marketing Prep with Joey

Summary

You will meet with Joey Tuccio to go over your bio, loglines, and the different pitches/marketing material you need to succeed in Top Tier. 

2x Open Pitch Credits

Summary

You will receive a code for 2x Verbal Open Pitch Sessions for you to practice your pitch and get an executive's feedback on what's working and what could be improved.

Up to 3 Webinar Recordings

Summary

You will receive up to 3 targeted webinar recordings from our library addressing specific growth points we've identified throughout the Career Writer Program.
