We love video games at Roadmap, and not just because some of the biggest games have been adapted into our favorite TV shows. There's something for everyone in games—strange worlds, every genre of storytelling, and the ability to connect with audiences of all ages and all over the world. What's not to love?
When it comes to writing for video games, we turn to our friend and alumnus Westin Lee to share advice, experience, and pro tips on working in interactive media!
This 90 Minute Webinar Will Cover:
- What writer/narrative roles in games look like
- Ways to get hired in games
- How the hiring works (portfolio recommendations, interviews, tests)
- How to network in the industry
- The things you must do when you get your first job
- Live Q&A
Westin Lee is a professional AAA (big-budget) games writer (Just Cause, Dying Light) and author based in Los Angeles. A scrappy urban adventurer from the sweltering Houston suburbs, he studied film and dodged hurricanes at Full Sail (Orlando), performed comedy in smoke-filled Turkish cafes (Berlin), and embarrassed himself in front of executives from multiple Fortune 500 companies (New York, Las Vegas, Palo Alto).
Westin tends to write subversive coming-of-age science fiction with occasional comedic elements. His work explores chaotic and frightening worlds where glimmers of hope can be found within oneself, and in the families we choose.
