Comedy and genre. Anything with a high concept hook is great both for personal interest and marketplace reasons. Character tends to be king in the comedy space, but for me, funny always wins, no matter what form, and regardless of format (feature, single cam, multi cam, and beyond).

More about Grant Lease

Grant Lease is a development executive and producer with a decade of industry experience in helping writers shape bold, standout projects that actually sell. As Director of Development at All Things Comedy -- the production company founded by Bill Burr -- Grant worked closely with top-tier comedic talent including Burr, George Lopez, Bobby Lee and more, developing scripted, unscripted, and feature projects that sold to Fox, TBS, and Spyglass, as well as independently-produced features.

Known for his sharp editorial eye, thoughtful notes, and a talent-friendly approach, Grant brings both industry insight and story instincts to every project he touches. He specializes in comedy and elevated genre but has worked across formats, tones, and platforms. Whether you need help cracking a premise, tightening a pilot, or figuring out why something just isn’t landing, Grant’s goal is always the same: help good ideas become great -- and get them ready for market.
