[Craft Series] The Ins and Outs of Subtext

Hosted By:
Carley Whitt - Showrunner's Assistant, NBC Universal

What comes to mind when you think about subtext? A weighty stare between old friends? That feeling you get when things aren't quite what they seem? How we know that when someone says "I'm fine" like that, they are anything but.

All of these are examples of subtext. At its core, subtext is about weaving additional meaning into your story. But how do you go about doing this? What are the tools and tricks of the trade to include subtext into your script in a natural and organic way?

To answer all this and more, Roadmap favorite Carley Whitt takes the webinar stage!

This 90 Minute Webinar Will Cover:

  • How to spot subtext
  • Incorporating subtext into your writing
  • Building subtext into dialogue
  • Live Q&A
