More about Annika Pampel

Annika is an award-winning writer/director. She was born and raised in former East Germany. After graduating with a B.A. in Theatre Directing & History from the University of Bavaria in Bayreuth, she received a Fulbright Scholarship and studied under Murray McGibbons at Indiana University, Bloomington. She rounded her formal education at the Savannah College of Art & Design with a Master's degree in film directing.

Still in school, she was hired as the assistant to the director of the film SAVANNAH and moved to Los Angeles to work for an A-list actor from that film. She worked on productions such as JUNGLE CRUISE, WATCHMEN, NCIS, THE GLORIAS, and many others. Annika is represented at 42t Management.

She worked for John and James Cameron in development and their medical- tech company, Human Health Organization, and was quickly promoted to VP of Production. During the pandemic, they re-dedicated an entire arm of the company to help at the frontlines with creating access to tests, PPE, and later, vaccines.

She currently has two projects in active development and published her first fiction novel in August of 2024 with Europe Books. As a first in a YA novel series, it has garnered a growing reader audience and won the Pegasus Award 25.

Her last short film CROSSING FENCES did a festival run in 2017/18 and received worldwide distribution through HEWES Media. It made the entire budget back.

She was selected for the SUNDANCE/WIF Finance Lab, A Nicholls Fellowship Semi-Finalist, A Screencraft finalist, and a finalist for Outstanding Screenplays, A Winner for the Pages awards 25, and she was named one of the top 25 writers to watch through the ISA (International Screenwriters Association). Her next film will shoot in 2025.
