Filmarket Hub and Roadmap Writers are partnering to host an international co-production Q and A webinar with guest producers Janet Jeffries, Carlo Dusi, Glen Geller and Alex Boden. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the challenges and benefits of structuring international co-productions in both Film and TV.

This panel will help demystify the process of international co-productions, and speak to a variety of topics to help writers and filmmakers better understand the best path forward for projects that have global appeal. Other topics will include how international co-productions are packaged, navigating  multi-language projects, creative elements that matter, and more.

Carlo Dusi

Carlo Dusi

Carlo Dusi joined London-based Endor Productions as Executive Producer and Strategy  Director in May 2021. In his role, Carlo is responsible for the continued development of the company’s global  strategy as well as the expansion and conversion of the company’s growing development  slate, including several projects which he initiated and will executive produce. Previously, Carlo led all commercial strategy across Red Arrow Studios International’s  scripted production and co-production business, working with the company’s creative,  acquisitions, finance and legal teams, and building relationships with group as well as third party production companies to package, co-finance and co-produce shows for the  international market. Most recently, Carlo was an executive producer on two seasons of Vienna Blood for BBC, PBS,  ORF and ZDF (starring Matthew Beard, Juergen Maurer, and Conleth Hill), and two seasons of  Departure for Corus, Peacock, NBCU (starring Archie Panjabi, Kris Holden-Reid and  Christopher Plummer). Second seasons of both shows are due for release in late 2021, and third seasons are now in active development.

Prior to joining Red Arrow Studios in June 2018, Carlo was Head of Business and Commercial  Affairs for Ridley Scott’s production banner Scott Free Films in the UK for six years, where he  was responsible for the company’s business strategy and deal negotiations across its feature  film and television slates, including executive producing Bafta- and Emmy-winning TV hit Taboo starring Tom Hardy. For Scott Free, Carlo was also an executive producer on several  feature projects including Rowan Joffe’s thriller Before I Go To Sleep, Chris Smith’s comedy  Get Santa, Sean Foley-directed comedy Mindhorn, and James Kent’s drama The Aftermath for Fox Searchlight. From 2002 to 2012, Carlo ran his own outfit Aria Films, an integrated film production,  financing and consultancy company; and, from 2001 to 2002, he worked as Director of  Business Development and Business Affairs for Pinewood-based production and financing  company Random Harvest Pictures. Carlo is a voting member of BAFTA and BIFA.

Glenn Geller

Glen Geller

In October 2019, Glenn Geller joined Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa’s production company as President. Based at Sony TV, Geller oversees the development of projects targeted for streaming, cable and network for the Emmy Award-winning producers, including their straight-to-series order at Showtime and ACCUSED, a crime anthology series for Fox.  From June 2017 to October 2019, under his GellerVision banner at CBS Studios, he co-created and executive produced the documentary series PANDEMIC on Netflix, which is nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Science and Technology Documentary. Geller also executive produced the FOX reboot of AMERICA’S MOST WANTED.  From September 2015 to June 2017, Geller served as President of CBS Entertainment overseeing the development and production of key hits including YOUNG SHELDON and BULL, Emmy-nominated late night series THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT and THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN, alternative limited series THE CASE OF: JON BENET RAMSEY and HUNTED, and Emmy-winning daytime talk show THE TALK.

From June 2013 to September 2015, Geller served as Executive Vice President, Current Programming for the CBS Network Television Entertainment Group. He oversaw the Company’s combined Network/Studio current department and for more than 30 primetime series on CBS, The CW, and cable, including: critically-acclaimed JANE THE VIRGIN and CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND, multiple Emmy-winning series MOM and THE GOOD WIFE, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, summer hit UNDER THE DOME, and television’s #1 franchise NCIS.   From 2001 to 2015, Geller served as Senior Vice President of Current Programming at CBS Studios, formerly Paramount Network Television, and prior served as both Director and Vice President of Current Programming at the Network.  From 1998 to 2001, Geller served three years in Drama Development at 20th Century Fox Television.

Janet Jeffries

Janet Jeffries

Janet Jeffries is a Development and Production executive working in both features and television for Lawrence Bender Productions/Bender Brown TV Productions. LBP is an independent feature film company in Los Angeles, working with several independent financiers and sales companies. Recent films include the animated short film COPS AND ROBBERS, streaming on Netflix and the feature film CAPONE starring Tom Hardy. Just wrapped is the Netflix original feature THE HARDER THEY FALL directed by Jeymes Samuel. Lawrence Bender’s credits also include the films GRETA, HACKSAW RIDGE, Martin Scorsese’s film SILENCE, GOOD WILL HUNTING, AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH, PULP FICTION and INGLORIOUS BASTARDS. Bender/Brown is the company’s television arm. Credits include the Netflix limited series SEVEN SECONDS, Starz limited series FLESH AND BONE, and the current CW series ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO. For the past eight years, Janet has also had the pleasure of being an adjunct professor for the MFA in Screenwriting program at National University. She also is an executive mentor working with Roadmap Writers.

Alex Boden

Alex Boden

Alex Boden is an award-winning film and TV producer working in the UK and internationally, specialising in international productions and co-productions. He is Chair of the Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) and is a voting member of BAFTA, the European Film Academy (EFA) and the Producers Guild of America (PGA). Alex is currently producing the HBO Max crime drama series TOKYO VICE in Japan, an adaptation of the book of the same name about an American journalist who becomes embroiled in the Japanese criminal underworld, created by Tony Award-winning playwright J.T. Rogers and starring Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe. Other projects in production include THE LAST PLANET, directed by director Terrence Malick and starring Sir Ben Kingsley and Mark Rylance.
Alex’s previous credits include the Netflix fantasy/ adventure series CURSED, a re-imagining of the Arthurian legend co-created by Frank Miller/ Tom Wheeler; the ground-breaking Netflix series SENSE8, directed by the Wachowskis, which filmed in 17 cities globally, for which he was nominated for a Producers Guild of America Award in 2019; the grand-scale fantasy epic CLOUD ATLAS starring Tom Hanks and Halle Berry; also UK and European productions exemplified by the award-winning independent documentary feature PULP, which opened the Sheffield Doc/Fest in 2014; the Scandi-Noir film anthology INTRIGO, starring Sir Ben Kingsley; Lionsgate’s Fantasporto award-winning thriller THE HOLDING. Alex is a Board Member and Mentor at Stowe Story Labs (Vermont, USA). He supports various charities, including the Woolf Institute. Fluent in English, French and German, his personal interests beyond film and TV include theatre, languages, travel and yoga.
