BIO

Catresa Meyers is Philly to the bone.  She’s a Philadelphia-based screenwriter with a passion for storytelling that empowers and uplifts.   As a child, Catresa overcame the pain of abuse, which fueled her desire to understand human behavior and ultimately led to a career as a criminal justice professor with an emphasis in the areas of criminal law and forensic psychology.  Catresa has infused this knowledge into several self-published novels, like Ghetto Princess—the story of a woman who escaped a life of sex trafficking and tries to build a new life while guarding a deadly secret from her past.  In addition, Catresa has optioned a screenplay, as well as written, produced, and directed four stage plays in community theater.

As a former social worker, turned attorney, turned college professor, Catresa has encountered countless people on their worst day, which inspired her to write the feature-length, faith-based dramedy, Radical.  The story of a popular cheerleader, who conquers extreme bullying through faith and an unlikely friendship with a group of misfits.  Catresa has made it her mission to spark joy in others through writing romcoms and dramedies that focus on themes of resilience and redemption. When she’s not writing, it’s sunscreen and flip flops.  Catresa has made it her personal mission to get sand between her toes from as many beaches as possible around the world. (Currently, at 11 beaches worldwide and counting).
