Genevieve Villarreal is a first-generation Mexican-American creative currently working as an assistant to the producers of X-Men '97 at Marvel Animation. She supports the production of the hit animated series through creative coordination, overall development & production support.
Previously, she worked as an assistant to a showrunner and writer with an overall deal at ABC Signature, and before that, as an assistant at Verve, where she supported both the Head of Non-Fiction and a TV Directing agent. These roles have given her a well-rounded foundation in both creative development and industry operations across scripted, unscripted, and animated content.
Genevieve holds a degree in Communications and Radio-Television-Film from San Jose State University, where she graduated cum laude. As a creative producer, she has led over five short films—some of which have screened at festivals including Cinequest and LA Shorts—showcasing her interest in offbeat, emotionally resonant storytelling.
