The first draft is just getting it on the paper. Now that your ideas are on the page, the next step is to take it from half-baked to fully realized. To help you out with that, Roadmap has created a 4-week program to help you identify the issues and areas for improvement that you should focus on when composing your second draft.

Your instructor will read your entire script before the program starts to better help you understand the direction in which you want to take the story and how to further improve dialogue, character, flow, structure, etc.

Each week will start with a lecture that encompasses an overall common issue that most TV comedy scripts face. This will be followed by personalized feedback for each writer targeting specific areas and a face-to-face dialogue on how to potentially improve your overall draft.

Each writer will implement the notes given each week and will submit starred pages tracking the changes so that the instructor can help keep your progress on track.

By the end of only 4 weeks, you will have a strong second draft to start marketing!
About Your Host

Audrey Knox worked her way up from Receptionist to Manager at the Cartel. She has experience in both scripted and unscripted television, on set, in production, and in writers’ rooms, and she has a BFA in Screenwriting from Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. Company clients' credits include ROYAL PAINS, CHARMED, BOJACK HORSEMAN, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE and HAPPY! to name a few. Her true passion lies in producing depressingly introspective comedies. Audrey also has a four-year-old rescue mutt who has performed with the hit comedy rap trio “Three Loco.”

What To Expect

Immediately after registering, you will receive an Order Confirmation email that serves as the receipt for your registration. In the Order Summary section of this email you will find a link reading "CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS" that will take you to your syllabus, instructions for submitting material (if any), and the link to join the Live Class. Sessions are conducted via video conferencing software ZOOM. You will receive a link to the recording of the session via email following the live session.

Payment Plans

Payment plans are available for most multi-week classes. For 4-week programs, your balance will be due the second week of class. For longer programs, the balance will be broken up into 3 or 4 payments with the final payment due prior to the final week of class. Please note that you are responsible for the full price of the class even if you decide not to complete the program for any reason.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel for a full refund up to 72 hrs. prior to the start of the class. Cancellations requested after this deadline will be ineligible for refunds.
