Class is limited to 5 writers (open to both Features & TV Projects)!

The first draft is just getting it on the paper. Now that your ideas are on the page, the next step is to take it from half-baked to fully realized. To help you out with that, Roadmap has created a 4-week program to help you identify the issues and areas for improvement that you should focus on when composing your second draft.

Your instructor will read your entire script before the program starts to better help you understand the direction in which you want to take the story and how to further improve dialogue, character, flow, structure, etc.

Each week will will be personalized feedback for each writer targeting specific areas and a face-to-face dialogue on how to potentially improve your overall draft.

Each writer will implement the notes given each week and will submit starred pages tracking the changes so that the instructor can help keep your progress on track.

By the end of only 4 weeks, you will have a strong second draft to start marketing!

Janet can always get right to the essence of what is needed to enhance a story. She has a gift with character and makes comments specific enough that the writer has a clear path for revisions. She has great energy and enthusiasm. Always a pleasure to work with Janet!

~ Cheryl Mott Smith, Screenwriter

I got so much out of my work with Janet. In short, I came into the class with a completed first draft, and I came out of it with so much more! She clearly understood the story I wanted to tell, and more importantly, she helped me understand how to tell it better. As a working parent, I deeply appreciated how Janet knew how to help me set appropriate goals for each week; she helped me make significant progress without burning me out. She is a very skillful mentor. If this workshop started tomorrow, I would literally register for it again right now.
