This is only available to writers who have attended the Written Pitch Clinic Lecture through the Pitch Prep Program. Writers are only eligible to book a private written pitch consult if they have attended or viewed Dorian's entire lecture previously.
After registering, please email your selected Consultation Coach your 2-pg. written pitch in WORD or GOOGLE DOCS format. You should also include the MORNINGS (the earlier the better), and EVENINGS (the later the better) that work for you to set a time for the call for the next two weeks (Pacific Time).
You will receive an initial markup of your pitch via Google Docs that you will have the opportunity to rewrite prior to the call. The consultation will be conducted via Zoom and typically lasts approx. 30-45 min. You will be provided with your marked-up document and the recording of the session following the consultation.
Roadmap Writers is a talent training and discovery platform for screenwriters ready for a guided path to success. Our programs are hosted by working industry executives and are designed to empower writers with actionable tools and insights to elevate your craft and cultivate relationships with industry professionals. Since 2016, we have helped hundreds of writers from all over the world sign to representation, staff on series, and option and produce their projects. Our writers have been staffed on BRIDGERTON, THE FLASH, CHICAGO PD, THE FIRST LADY, NIGHT COURT, THE GOOD DOCTOR, THE RESIDENT, REACHER, SUBJECT TO CHANGE, MAYANS and POKERFACE. Writers have sold, set up and been produced by Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, MGM, American High, New Republic Pictures, Maven Screen Media, Lifetime, Will Packer Studios and Roku.
Dorian was fresh off working for producer Mark Ciardi (THE ROOKIE, MIRACLE, CHAPPAQUIDDICK) when she co-founded Roadmap Writers as its COO where she has been teaching writers how to pitch (whether they like it or not) ever since. With years of experience in talent management, live events, and feature film producing, Dorian is also a proud Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Guinea/Mali '08-'10). When she's not helping writers perfect their pitches, Dorian can be found at music festivals and karaoke bars.
With nearly two decades of experience in entertainment, Sam Schifrien can trace her fascination for the magic of film & TV back to her North Jersey kindergarten, when she learned to tie her shoes for a sketch on the MTV show THE STATE. In the three decades since, Sam has worked for multiple representation companies in several capacities, networks & studios, in a writers’ room and on sets (where her responsibilities grew beyond tying shoes).
Sam is a proud graduate of the USC Business Cinematic Arts Joint Degree Program (Fight On!) whose first industry jobs were at ABC Media Relations in NY, the USC Campus Filming office and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, where she developed what would be longstanding relationships with clients like Charles Randolph, Alex Tse, Susanna Fogel, Mark Ruffalo and Margaret Nagle. Sam worked on ABC’s RESURRECTION under showrunners Michele Fazekas & Tara Butters before following non-writing Executive Producer JoAnn Alfano to NBCUniversal International. Before starting 93 Cedar, Sam managed a slate of over 30 development projects at Untitled Entertainment (at a department that unfortunately no longer exists but was partnered with great talents like Christina Ricci, Reggie Hudlin and Melanie Griffith).
In addition to building 93 Cedar, Sam has been working in story analysis and IP evaluation for companies with major studio deals, and judged screenplay competitions for various festivals, institutions and organizations. She also teaches and coaches writers from all over the world, helping them to strengthen their material. Currently, she is looking for like-minded partners, with a particular interest in female-created genre, comedy with a purpose/has a personal connection to the creator & builds up opposed to tearing down, and any non-fiction or docu-series projects which could be partnered with advocacy groups.
Pitch Prep with Dorian was challenging, clarifying, and motivating. You quickly learn how to talk about and market your writing, and you also build skills to vet future project ideas. I have not found this type of information in other programs. Highly recommended!

Sam is extremely adept at story as well as giving excellent refining notes. You can tell that she has a sophistication about what will work and what will be commercially viable. It felt like she gave only the notes that were absolutely necessary without getting too nitpicky or detail oriented. I feel like my material will be much much better for having met with her, and I am extremely thankful!

Dorian's feedback is the best I've ever had—and that includes dozens of graduate courses! She is a genius at story crafting.
