Confidence is key to success in so many different industries, but it's really the magic sauce when it comes to pitching your projects. We all know this, but when most of us open our mouths to begin a verbal pitch, we feel a significant amount of nerves. And sometimes, those nerves come through in our pitch and prevent us from connecting with the person listening to our story.
If this is something that you've struggled with, don't worry! Jared Delaney is here with an interactive session to help conquer nerves and build your confidence!
This 2 Hour Class Will Cover:
- Ingredients for a successful pitch
- Types of pitches
- Building confidence and engaging with the audience
- Live Q&A
After the talk, Jared will take up to 2 volunteers to practice their 5 minute pitch live for feedback!
**Note: You must attend the whole webinar to volunteer.
Jared Michael Delaney is a Philly-based screenwriter, playwright and actor, born into an Irish family where good storytelling was a required skill if you wanted to be heard above the din. A member of the Dramatists’ Guild, AEA and SAG-AFTRA, he received his MA in Theatre from Villanova University and MFA in Stage/Screenwriting from the Queens University of Charlotte, with further training with Lee Jessup, Jen Grisanti, Script Anatomy, Roadmap Writers, and the Sundance Co/Lab, among others. He’s been seen on HBO, AMC, various (fantastically “B”) features and on stages across the nation.
He’s a multi-time quarterfinalist in various screenplay competitions, which surely must add up to one finalist somewhere. His plays have been produced across the country and internationally, including Voyager One, named a Top Ten Production by the Newark Star Ledger. He’s also been published by Smith & Krauss Books.
Jared’s work as a journalist taught him to tune out the static and find the correct frequency of a story. He writes emotionally complex characters struggling with difficult circumstances…like that time he died for ten minutes.
But he’s fine now.
Really.
