Outlining Your TV Pilot

Sam Corrado
Development Coordinator
Adaptive Studios
Mondays 4/22 & 5/6 @ 4:00pm - 6:00pm PT

Show of virtual hands, who’s ever said: 'I’ve got the best idea for a show'? Probably most of us have thought this at one point or another, but, when it comes time to roll up our sleeves and get to it, we realize that crafting a compelling and effective pilot episode is incredibly difficult, and it’s difficult before you even get started. Should you have a teaser? How long should it be? How many pages total is each Act, and should you even include act breaks in a script anymore? And that’s not even addressing how to weave all of your storylines together.

This is the point when you realize that a solid outline is going to be key, but there’s just one problem: you aren’t sure how to outline a TV episode.

Take a deep breath and worry no more! Sam Corrado is here with a two-week clinic to break down all your outlining concerns and questions!

In This 2-Week Clinic You Will Learn How To:

  • Identify the important beats of your pilot
  • Create your characters’ inner needs and exterior challenges
  • Pace and structure the narrative for maximum impact
  • Bring your individual story threads together
