The exec of your choice will read either the first 25 pages of 4 scripts, 33 pages of 3 scripts, or the first 50 pages of 2 scripts. You'll also submit a one-pager of loglines (to include Title, Format, Genre, and Comps with each logline) for their review. Then you'll have a one-hour call with the exec to get their notes and feedback on your portfolio as a whole, as well as receive marketing and career advice. Be prepared to ask guiding questions!

Don't overthink it, just tell me a good story and why I should care about these characters and the journey they go on. I want to know why this story needs to be made now and who is the audience for it. You only get one chance to pitch to someone, so make sure your story, concept, and characters are exceptional. And give me a reason to say yes.

MJ Grogan is the Director of Development at Unreasonable Studios, a global creative production company working across premium entertainment, branded content, and large-scale production services. Working in both scripted and documentaries MJ’s most recent credits include The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson (Netflix #2 globally across 15+ markets) and the adventure thriller Buried (Netflix top 10.)
Prior to joining Unreasonable, MJ was a development executive and Head of the Story Department at Legendary Entertainment where he worked on the global blockbusters Dune, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Godzilla v Kong. He also worked on the live action video game adaptations Pokémon: Detective Pikachu and A Minecraft Movie as well as Enola Holmes and A Christmas Story Christmas, the sequel to the beloved Christmas classic, A Christmas Story.
Previously, MJ was a producer on the PGA winning and Emmy nominated series Vice: World of Sports for the Viceland network, and at Disney MJ contributed to a number of iconic films including The Jungle Book, Pete’s Dragon, Togo, and Cinderella.
After registering, you will receive instructions on how to submit your material in your order confirmation email. Please be sure to submit a one-pager of loglines and either 2 scripts (50 pages each), 3 scripts (33 pages each), or 4 scripts (25 pages each). After submitting your material, please allow about 3-4 weeks to receive proposed times for scheduling your call with the exec. If you haven't heard from your exec by the 3-4 week mark about scheduling, please email terra@roadmapwriters.com so we know to check in with them on your behalf about their proposed dates/ETA for you.

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your registration for a refund or Roadmap gift card if you have not yet submitted your material for review. However, once your material has been received by Roadmap, your registration cannot be canceled. Having revised material or a desire to retroactively apply a discount or gift card code are not grounds for cancellation, refunds, or gift card credit. Once your material has been submitted, the only acceptable grounds for cancellation and a refund or gift card credit is an unforeseen, ongoing emergency on the part of either the writer or the exec resulting in more than 6 weeks without any scheduling update from the exec via direct contact or Roadmap, or a sudden change in the exec's ongoing availability. In the instance of an irreconcilable scheduling issue, the writer may still receive a written feedback report from the exec. In this case, the writer is not entitled to a refund or gift card credit as the exec has read the submitted material and provided written feedback in lieu of the call.
