More about Matt Sacca

Matt Sacca began his journey in the entertainment industry by interning in American High's development department from 2017-2019, where he quickly recognized his passion for story structure and the script development process through high-school comedy features like BANANA SPLIT, LOOKS THAT KILL, and BIG TIME ADOLESCENCE. American High was founded by esteemed Hollywood comedy veteran Jeremy Garelick, known for writing THE BREAK-UP, the production draft of THE HANGOVER, and writing and directing 2015's THE WEDDING RINGER.

During his year-long stint in LA as part of Syracuse University's domestic abroad program in Spring and Summer 2018, Matt continued honing his industry skillset in Good Universe's Film Development and Lionsgate's TV development departments while working weekends to continue growing American High's program. During his tenure at Good Universe and Lionsgate, Matt helped develop GOOD BOYS, ALWAYS BE MY MAYBE, THE GRUDGE (2020), ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK: SEASON 7, and FLORIDA GIRLS.

After HULU acquired BIG TIME ADOLESCENCE from the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, they agreed to an eight-picture deal with American High, beginning with Jeremy Garelick's THE BINGE--the first-ever Hulu Original film. Matt graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelors degree in Television, Radio, and Film in 2019 and immediately began working on AH sets in various capacities, such as Locations and the Assistant Director department, on "American High x HULU" features like The Binge and THE ULTIMATE PLAYLIST OF NOISE.

In 2020, Matt began his year-long journey as Jeremy Garelick's assistant on features like PLAN B and SEX APPEAL while continuing to evolve American High's development department and strengthening the company's internship opportunities with regional colleges and universities. In July 2021, Matt was promoted to American High's Head of Development and has overseen writers room comedy punch-ups, topline notes, and overall script development on Active and Developing projects such as CRUSH (FKA Love in Color); MURDER MYSTERY 2 (which Garelick polished and is currently directing); THE BINGE 2: IT'S A WONDERFUL BINGE; Jeremy Garelick and Will Phelps' UNTITLED FOX ANIMATION COMEDY PILOT; and many, many more projects in the pipeline.

In addition to his development duties, Matt also runs American High's internship program, where he and Garelick meet with students from an abundance of New York-based schools each semester to educate them in the art of filmmaking, imparting wisdom on how to see a project through from conception to completion.

How it Works

After registering, you will receive instructions on how to submit your material in your order confirmation email. After submitting your material, please allow 3-4 weeks to receive proposed times for scheduling your call with the exec.

Be sure to familiarize yourself with Roadmap's Code of Conduct.

Questions? Email terra@roadmapwriters.com

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your registration for a refund or Roadmap gift card if you have not yet submitted your material for review. However, once your material has been received by Roadmap, your registration cannot be canceled. Having revised material or a desire to retroactively apply a discount or gift card code are not grounds for cancellation, refunds, or gift card credit. Once your material has been submitted, the only acceptable grounds for cancellation and a refund or gift card credit is an unforeseen, ongoing emergency on the part of either the writer or the exec resulting in more than 6 weeks without any scheduling update from the exec via direct contact or Roadmap, or a sudden change in the exec's ongoing availability. In the instance of an irreconcilable scheduling issue, the writer may still receive a written feedback report from the exec. In this case, the writer is not entitled to a refund or gift card credit as the exec has read the submitted material and provided written feedback in lieu of the call.
