Particularly Interested In

I'm a writer-producer with a background in grounded political and psychological thrillers, true-story and historical dramas, premium one-hour drama, and character comedy. Right now I'm especially excited to work on: feature thrillers, true-story and historical drama features and limited series, premium character-driven one-hour drama, smart comedic features and half-hour comedies, and family/all-audiences feature animation. I'm also a big sports fan and love a great sports story, whether features or series. I have a strong development and structure background, with a particular ear for dialogue, so I'm especially useful to writers working on tightening concept, structure, dialogue, and marketability. I'm happy to work across other genres too. These are just where I can add the most value.

I'm probably not the best fit for horror, broad fantasy worldbuilding, or young-children's animation (preschool/kids TV, think BLUEY or PAW PATROL). Happy to leave those to people who specialize there.

More about Evan Parter

Evan Parter is a screenwriter and producer who has written film and television scripts for several major studios, networks, and production companies including Amazon Studios, Fox, Sony, CBS Studios, Paramount, Peacock, Sky, Relativity, Anonymous Content, Park Pictures, The Exchange, Next Productions, Mar-Key Productions, Fabel Entertainment, and Pocket 7 Films.

Evan wrote and produced THE INDEPENDENT, a political thriller starring Brian Cox, John Cena, Jodie Turner-Smith, Ann Dowd, Luke Kirby, Stephen Lang, Michael Gandolfini, and directed by Emmy winner Amy Rice (HBO's "By the People"). THE INDEPENDENT was co-financed by Sky and Relativity and produced by Anonymous Content (THE REVENANT, SPOTLIGHT), Park Pictures (THE PERFECT NEIGHBOR), and Next Productions (MEET CUTE.) The film premiered on Peacock in 2022 and is currently available on Peacock, Amazon, and Apple. Parter has had two screenplays featured on the Black List, a year-end survey of the "most liked" unproduced screenplays. He currently has several projects in development, including:

• KINGS CANYON, a Cold War thriller, set up with Bristol Automotive (THE IMITATION GAME) and Fabel Entertainment (BOSCH.)

• DEAN, a feature about Watergate told through the eyes of whistleblower John Dean, set up at Amazon Studios, with Chris Pine attached to star and Billy Ray (CAPTAIN PHILLIPS) attached to produce.

• BODYSNATCHER, a psychological thriller, currently in development at Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment.

• UNTOLD, a WWII feature about two men who escaped from Auschwitz, with Alex Wolff attached to star and Aaron Schneider attached to direct.

• MULLIGANS, a half-hour comedy pilot written for CBS Studios and Paramount+.

• THE BELIEVER, an hour-long drama pilot written for Fox International.

Evan was one of 20 writers chosen out of 5,000 applicants to participate in Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's "Imagine Impact" accelerator, where he wrote a half-hour comedy pilot, PLAYING GOD. Before becoming a full-time screenwriter and producer, Evan worked in development at Steve Carell's Carousel Productions (CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE) and Escape Artists (HIGHEST 2 LOWEST, THE EQUALIZER). Evan was born and raised in New York and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Virginia. He is represented by Anonymous Content and The Nord Group.

How it Works

After registering, you will receive instructions on how to submit your material in your order confirmation email. After submitting your material, please allow about 3-4 weeks to receive proposed times for scheduling your call with the exec. If you haven't heard from your exec by the 3-4 week mark about scheduling, please email terra@roadmapwriters.com so we know to check in with them on your behalf about their proposed dates/ETA for you.

**Please note half-hour pilot consultation material is limited to 37 pages maximum

Be sure to familiarize yourself with Roadmap's Code of Conduct.

Questions? Email terra@roadmapwriters.com!

MARKETING BONUS! If you receive a rating of Excellent or Virtually Flawless in at least four out of five categories (Logline and Formatting/Ease of Reading are excluded) on your consultation feedback report, we'll do one round of personalized marketing to execs (up to 5) for this screenplay for free!

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your registration for a refund or Roadmap gift card if you have not yet submitted your material for review. However, once your material has been received by Roadmap, your registration cannot be canceled. Having revised material or a desire to retroactively apply a discount or gift card code are not grounds for cancellation, refunds, or gift card credit. Once your material has been submitted, the only acceptable grounds for cancellation and a refund or gift card credit is an unforeseen, ongoing emergency on the part of either the writer or the exec resulting in more than 6 weeks without any scheduling update from the exec via direct contact or Roadmap, or a sudden change in the exec's ongoing availability. In the instance of an irreconcilable scheduling issue, the writer may still receive a written feedback report from the exec. In this case, the writer is not entitled to a refund or gift card credit as the exec has read the submitted material and provided written feedback in lieu of the call.
