We love a good mystery at Roadmap! Something about trying to put the pieces together and solve the puzzle is addicting. In recent years, plenty of compelling mystery series have captured the our imaginations, but audiences still can't get enough!
Limited to only 5 writers, this 4 week class with Sean Rivas (GOOSEBUMPS) will take you through the development process and get set up for completing the opening pages of your script. Walk away with a solid outline, developed characters, and the opening pages of your mystery pilot.
This Four Week Class Will Cover:
- Structure
- Character development
- Planting and payoff
- Feedback on your outline and pages
Sean Rivas is a comedy writer, most recently staffed on season 2 of GOOSEBUMPS on Disney+ /Hulu starring David Schwimmer. Hailing from Glendora, California, Sean describes himself as “Half-Mexican, Half-white and 100% Homosexual.” Before writing, Sean worked in documentary production and nonprofit marketing, supporting high-profile clients like Charlize Theron, Jane Goodall, and The Dalai Lama— which provided much inspiration for his writing (along with trauma). Sean has been selected twice as a Mentee for the Read Latinx Writers Initiative, was a finalist for the NBC Writers on the Verge in 2021, and most recently was a member of the 2023 Disney Writers Program Cohort.
