How you approach the prep work of outlining your script—whether for your first draft or your 10th—can make all the difference when you sit down to face the blinking cursor. No matter how detailed or macro, all outlines must contain the standard structural integrity and character arcs for your particular format and genre. Submit your outline (10 page max) and the executive will conduct a 30-minute notes call to give you and your story ground-level guidance. You'll discuss how to refine set up of the structure, pacing, theme, and character development for your script.

For me, half-hour cable and streaming comedy is ideal, Comedy and Rom Coms in the feature space. I have worked in animation kids, adult, TV and features and am happy to give feedback on animation writing but also know most people are hired for animation off comedy writing samples.

Her credits include Head Writer on Nickelodeon’s ZOKIE OF PLANT RUBY, Story Editor and Head Writer for Netflix’s musical comedy series, I HEART ARLO, and writer on Jimmy Fallon’s 5 Sleeps ‘TILL HALLOWEEN animated special based on his book of the same name. She has developed for TV and feature film with Nickelodeon where she had an overall deal, Dreamworks Animation, Netflix and Disney. Her original pilot PUSSIES was selected for the HBO-sponsored WIF & Blacklist TV lab.
As an executive, Colleen worked at Illumination Entertainment on the MINIONS and DESPICABLE ME franchises, THE SECRET LIVES OF PETS, SING, and THE GRINCH and Produced the Secret Life of Pets dark ride at Universal Theme Park. While the Director of Current Series at Hasbro Studios, she produced MY. LITTLE PONY: EQUESTRIA GIRLS, HANAZUKI, THE LITTLEST PET SHOP series, MICRONAUTS and was Co-EP on the HANAZUKI theatrical feature short.
She received her B.S. in Television Radio & Video Production from Ithaca College and her M.F.A in Motion Picture Producing from USC’s Peter Stark Producing Program.
Colleen hails from blustery Upstate New York and lived abroad in Ireland and thus has an above-average ability to survive cold temperatures and make excellent Irish Coffee. She loves writing about broken characters who don’t need to be fixed.

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your registration for a refund or Roadmap gift card if you have not yet submitted your material for review. However, once your material has been received by Roadmap, your registration cannot be canceled. Having revised material or a desire to retroactively apply a discount or gift card code are not grounds for cancellation, refunds, or gift card credit. Once your material has been submitted, the only acceptable grounds for cancellation and a refund or gift card credit is an unforeseen, ongoing emergency on the part of either the writer or the exec resulting in more than 6 weeks without any scheduling update from the exec via direct contact or Roadmap, or a sudden change in the exec's ongoing availability. In the instance of an irreconcilable scheduling issue, the writer may still receive a written feedback report from the exec. In this case, the writer is not entitled to a refund or gift card credit as the exec has read the submitted material and provided written feedback in lieu of the call.
