A little bit of everything, to be honest. My only major note is that I prefer projects to have a rather hopeful vantage point of life.

Specifically Not Interested In

Anything too niche. I want stories, worlds, and characters that are written in such a way that they're accessible to almost anyone. I also don’t want anything too out there or esoteric for the common viewer.

More about Chris Sarfin

Chris Sarfin showed an interest in filmmaking at a very young age, using a toy projector to illustrate images of his talking animal characters against the living room wall. Growing up on Long Island, Chris wanted to be an illustrator or animator, but as a teenager, Chris took a liking to live action, using his dad's old tape recorder to create shorts and a feature film with his friends and family.

Chris went to Hofstra University where he earned his BA in Film Studies & Production. During this time, he continued making shorts, many of which often had an “uplifting" tone to them.

Two weeks after graduating, Chris moved to Los Angeles and began working for Paramount Pictures. During those few years, Chris got a crash course into all things Hollywood, learning the various aspects of filmmaking from development, production, marketing, publicity, and everything in between. He also had the opportunity to work and meet various reputable filmmakers and talent within the industry.

He then went on to work six years working in development at Zadan/Meron Productions under producers Neil Meron and the late Craig Zadan. Zadan/Meron is famous for producing numerous projects including CHICAGO, HAIRSPRAY, FOOTLOOSE, and all the recent live shows for NBC such as “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert” and “Annie Live!” While working there, Chris got the chance to help develop and work on various features, tv shows, live shows, Broadway shows, limited series, tv movies, and more.

At the moment, Chris is focusing his energy on his own independent projects. He is looking for talented writers that can not only write, but also bring positive energy. He is a firm believer in unique storytelling, stunning visual aesthetics, and strong, positive themes in his work.

How it Works

After registering, you will receive instructions on how to submit your material in your order confirmation email. After submitting your material, please allow 3-4 weeks to receive proposed times for scheduling your call with the exec.

Be sure to familiarize yourself with Roadmap's Code of Conduct.

Questions? Email terra@roadmapwriters.com

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your registration for a refund or Roadmap gift card if you have not yet submitted your material for review. However, once your material has been received by Roadmap, your registration cannot be canceled. Having revised material or a desire to retroactively apply a discount or gift card code are not grounds for cancellation, refunds, or gift card credit. Once your material has been submitted, the only acceptable grounds for cancellation and a refund or gift card credit is an unforeseen, ongoing emergency on the part of either the writer or the exec resulting in more than 6 weeks without any scheduling update from the exec via direct contact or Roadmap, or a sudden change in the exec's ongoing availability. In the instance of an irreconcilable scheduling issue, the writer may still receive a written feedback report from the exec. In this case, the writer is not entitled to a refund or gift card credit as the exec has read the submitted material and provided written feedback in lieu of the call.
