Jill Underhill is a former network executive turned screenwriter specializing in heartfelt, female-driven features rooted in romance, family, and emotional transformation. As SVP of Marketing at Hallmark, she helped shape and launch dozens of original movies, developing a deep understanding of what resonates with audiences who crave love stories, second chances, and uplifting endings.
Previously NBCUniversal's VP of Programming, Jill oversaw comedy and drama series and features, sharpening her instinct for character, tone, and commercial storytelling. She trained with Corey Mandell, Robert McKee, and UCLA, and recently served as a staff writer on an Emmy-winning limited series. A multi-Emmy nominee and recipient of a Gracie, Telly, and multiple international marketing awards, she brings both creative vision and market savvy to every script.
She lives in Los Angeles and is the adoptive mother of three boys from three countries - a role, like writing romance, that requires heart, resilience, and a belief that love can rewrite any story.
