Comedy, elevated horror, cosy crime, and satire. But open to anything that feels unexpected and fresh.
Eileen Tracey is a writer, director and script editor working across Film, TV, and audio. Known for her sharp wit and compelling storytelling, she has made a significant mark in the comedy space. Her acerbic comedy pilot SPINSTER went into production last year with the BBC and Hat Trick Productions. DERRY GIRLS creator Lisa McGee served as an executive producer and mentor.
Eileen’s talent has been widely recognised—she won a Northern Irish comedy talent search and was shortlisted for both BAFTA Rocliffe and the Female Flight Club competition. Her work has also earned nominations from the Royal Television Society, National Youth Film Awards, and numerous film festivals.
In addition to her own projects, Eileen is a sought-after script editor and co-writer, collaborating with various production companies across genres—including thrillers, horror, drama, and even a Western. She has ghostwritten feature films and edited TV scripts for various production companies. She serves as a story consultant for various producers and provides insightful notes and fixes.
Eileen began her career in drama, co-writing and directing ONE FOR THE ROAD, a powerful film developed alongside victims of climate change in a small Welsh town. The film received international acclaim, screening at festivals such as Norwich Film Festival, Carmarthen Bay, and Edinburgh International Film Festival. Lead actress Lynn Hunter (End of the F***ing World) won Best Actress at the prestigious Dinard Film Festival for her role. More importantly, ONE FOR THE ROAD became a vital tool in the real-life campaign to save the affected community’s homes.
Eileen continued her socially driven storytelling with A PARTICULAR FRIEND, a provocative drama developed with survivors of conversion therapy. Awarded funding from NI Screen, she shot the film in 2023 with Brian Milligan (Hunger) and Chris Robinson (How to Get to Heaven from Belfast) in the leading roles. The film went on to screen at various festivals and received the esteemed RE:Focus Fund from Inside Out Festival.
Beyond TV and film, Eileen is expanding her creative reach. She is developing a comedy-drama feature and a folk horror, while also working in the audio space—both as a writer for podcasts and as the co-host of her own podcast, ON THE TURN.
