Britain is the home of great TV - from the shows we make ourselves because we’re different (Dr Who, Happy Valley) to the shows we make for other people because we’re classy (Andor, Bridgerton).
And every TV commissioner here says, “It all starts with a great idea and a great script…”
But who really wants what - and how is their appetite different from the studios and networks of Hollywood? Is pitching different here? Do your materials have to look and sound different? How important is having an individual perspective or tone of voice - in a world where both Adolescence and Sex Education can be smash hits?
And if your idea has big or obviously US elements, who wants that here right now - and who very much doesn’t?
Emmy-award-winning TV writer and producer John McKay will share his up to the minute knowledge of the many marketplaces for TV ideas in the UK, with nuanced insights into current trends, no-go’s, and key commercial meeting points for pitching and selling your idea.
Participants can either sign up for the WEBINAR and listen to the discussion and ask questions or the CLINIC to practice your pitch and receive individual feedback and market advice from John.
