As a gay-owned company, we love to raise queer voices and celebrate LGBTQ+ pride every month. As the world celebrates pride, Roadmap will continue to spotlight diverse voices through June and include free programming to our community.

We're also excited to celebrate upcoming films like FIRE ISLAND and BROS that are providing authentic and fun stories spotlighting LGBTQ stories.

On June 27th and June 28th at 4pm - 5pm PT we will be hosting free LGBTQ panels spotlighting LGBTQ+ industry professionals. We will be discussing:

  • The state of the industry
  • Writing queer characters
  • Do's and don't's for queer stories
  • Stepping outside of stereotypes

**One writer will have the opportunity to pitch live to these execs during this panel.  Roadmap will review all material submitted in June through Access Program and Consultations and we will choose one writer to pitch live!

LGBTQIA+ Representation in Hollywood, Part 2

Date / Time
-
Summary

This panel is hosted by:

AE Jones is a television literary manager at Stagecoach Entertainment, where they keep the shifting television market in constant perspective for clients and oversee all tracking of development and staffing opportunities for writers across broadcast, cable, and streaming.

In addition to their experience across representation, production, and business and creative development with companies like Paradigm, NBCUniversal, Red Bull Media House, and Manatt, Phelps, and Phillips, LLC, Jones served as Associate Producer of Enough Room, a social impact comedy short that tackles the issues of passive racism and societal expectations while inviting an authentic connection in the face of adversity - all on a first date! Pursuing and developing this story in early 2018 sparked their passion for centering voices that have yet to be heard and need to be seen on television.

Jones is drawn to stories about outsiders seeking connection, characters breaking and creating their own norms, and nuanced conversations about queer and First/Second Generation experiences. If you can make them laugh at the same time, even better.

Jared Negrón identifies as a member of the LGBTQIA+, Latinx, and Jewish communities, and he has recently launched his own management firm focused on writers. He is formerly a development executive with experience at various companies of note, as well as having served as a project creative for Disney Parks. Jared began his career with an apprenticeship at FX Networks before working on the premium comedy and drama development teams at CBS Studios, Scott Free, Hazy Mills, and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Productions. While at CBS Studios, Jared worked on such projects as the Showtime pilot DRY (based on the Augusten Burroughs memoir), and series THE CLEANER (A&E), KING & MAXWELL (TNT), COMMON LAW (USA), and POWER (Starz). At Scott Free he championed the development of Amazon comedy JEAN CLAUDE VAN JOHNSON and served on the development team for the critically acclaimed MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE, and during his time at Hazy Mills, he was fortunate to perform current services on multicam juggernaut HOT IN CLEVELAND. His tenure at SYCO saw pitch sales to Fox, Fremantle, CBS Studios, and Univision. Jared’s primary interest is entertaining content told from authentically diverse backgrounds, and amplifying stories that aren’t often heard. He is a proud graduate of Chapman University (BA) and University of Denver (MS).

Zadoc Angell is a manager at Echo Lake Entertainment. Client credits include: THE FLASH, TEEN WOLF, LOST, and THE HANDMAID'S TALE.
