This session format is available only to writers in our Top Tier Program.
This session includes 2 x 30 minute Zoom meetings.
In the first meeting, the exec will review the feature script OR pilot and bible (if provided) and meet with the writer via Zoom for 30 minutes to provide rewrite notes.
The writer will rewrite their script with the markup switch on and send it back to the exec to read and then meet with the exec via Zoom for a second 30 minutes to receive further feedback on their script.

John Doherty brings a wealth of experience in development, production and financing to The Doherty Company, aiming to produce thought provoking and commercially successful films and television in a filmmaker friendly environment. Currently, John is producing with Artistry Collective, Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame at DSE and Adam Sandler at Happy Madison.
Prior to launching The Doherty Company in 2018, John worked under President Brian Oliver, running development for Cross Creek Pictures during which the team produced 15 films including ROMAN J. ISRAEL, AMERICAN MADE, HACKSAW RIDGE, RUSH, LEGEND, BLACK MASS, THE WOMAN IN BLACK and BLACK SWAN.
Most recently, Doherty produced Coke Daniels’ latest feature THE WATERBOYZ. Finally, he serves as Production Manager for Adam Sandler’s live tour. Sandler’s LOVE YOU was nominated for a GOLDEN GLOBE and EMMY for Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television in 2024. Pollstar Awards 2026 winner for Comedy Tour of the Year: Adam Sandler’s YOU’RE MY BEST FRIEND TOUR.
Each spring, John teaches through his alma mater Duke University’s study abroad program in Los Angeles at USC.
John was cool and so generous with his time. He really got in the weeds with me. He was constructive and direct but he also had a good sense of humor. I could tell that he was passionate about helping writers and seemed really interested in problem-solving and provided actionable feedback. It was a fun conversation.
