You're learned how to pitch, and now you're ready to find a rep that will guide and support you along your path. But there's so much to consider when looking for a rep.

What do reps look for in writers? What are the questions you should ask? What are the red flags? And how can you avoid tripping up and scaring a good rep away?

To answer all this and more, Roadmap welcomes some of our favorite people to the webinar stage for this special two part panel event!

  • Audience Q&A!
More about
Kenyetta Raelyn
Screenwriter

Kenyetta Raelyn is an award-winning Los Angeles-based screenwriter and filmmaker. In 2020, she landed in the top 10% of the Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship Competition and was one of six women chosen to participate in the Blacklist/Women in Film Episodic Lab. Earlier in 2020 year she was invited to be a part of Blackmagic’s Future Women of TV career accelerator which introduces 12 stellar, creative women to industry showrunners and gatekeepers. In 2019, Kenyetta was a part of Meryl Streep’s Feature Writers Lab NYC and the ScreenCraft Drama Feature Competition Grand Prize Winner.

In her formative years, Kenyetta was plucked out of a midwestern working-class environment and shipped off to live with the scions of America’s wealthiest 1% in a New England boarding school. That experience inspired her interest in finance and, after graduating from Columbia University, led to a stint on Wall Street working as a banking slave. Obsessed with the Gilded Age and early American industrial tycoons, she writes vividly about capitalism, wealth and privilege and their intersection with race, class, and immigration status.

She is currently writing her first studio feature for Particular Crowd, a division of WarnerMedia International. Prior to that she wrote freelance episodes for Spotify’s True Crime podcast HOSTAGE and she directed a digital dramedy series starring VERONICA MARS’ Enrico Colantoni called ADVERSITY.

Kenyetta is repped by Ashley Berns with Leigh Hill Management.

Shawn Parikh
Actor
Roadmap's 123rd Signed Writer by Klasco Entertainment

After nailing a kiss and a single line in Bye Bye Birdie in 9th grade, Shawn Parikh knew two things for sure: he loved showbiz and he did not love women. Being a gay Indian-Texan-American pursuing a creative career, he is an uberbrown sheep—although, he did his best to make his parents proud with a degree in PoliSci and a Master’s in Psych. A student of improv, standup and sketch at UCB & Groundlings, he has appeared on shows like OUTSOURCED, COUGAR TOWN, WHAT/IF and MOM. In addition to writing and starring in an independent pilot BAD INDIANS with Devanshi Patel and a spoof of HBO’s THE NIGHT OF for Funny or Die, Shawn’s short film KHOL (“open”), starring Sarayu Blue, played a global festival circuit.

He is repped by Klasco Entertainment.
