BIO 

 

Raul Espino is a Filipino-Canadian screenwriter based in Vancouver, B.C. He writes grounded horror and survival thrillers rooted in Filipino folklore and diaspora identity - drawing from both cultural inheritance and deep research into mythology, folk belief, and the specific experiences of Filipino communities abroad. His feature Pasahero placed as a Semi-Finalist at the Vancouver Horror Show Film Festival 2026 alongside his spec feature The Caregiver (Quarter-Finalist, same cycle). He specializes in elevated genre horror that centers underrepresented cultural voices and stories.
