Quarterfinalist, 2025 Roadmap Writers' Shorts Competition
BIO
NOEL THOMPSON became an archaeologist after watching Indiana Jones as a kid growing up in New Jersey. Noel excavated in Belize, Spain, and Egypt before receiving a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago based on research at the Giza Pyramids’ Khufu Solar Boat. Later, during a voyage to French Polynesia, on a fifty-foot sailboat that Noel and her family were living aboard, a storm tore off the mainsail. She backtracked to Panama with stories bursting to be written, while homeschooling her three daughters. Soon, she traded in the trade winds for the good air of Buenos Aires. In this vibrant city, inspired by her intriguing international voice, Noel has co-written two four-quadrant feature treatments, consulted on a psychological drama script in pre-production, and punched up an international rom-com feature. Noel is producing her feature script, SNOWDRIFT, a taut film noir set in rural Appalachia, with a projected budget of $ 750K. Her thriller short TWOFER debuted in 2025. Noel is in the Roadmap Writers Top Tier Program. Her latest script, PLR: PAST LIFE REGRESSION, is a paranormal psychological drama series based on her experience reliving past lives during hypnotherapy.
