Semifinalist, Everard Entertainment + Roadmap Writers' Short Story Competition (2026)
BIO
Levi Bailey is an AFI-trained screenwriter specializing in weird fiction and horror set against the backdrop of small, tight-knit communities. Raised in the Texas Panhandle by a Pentecostal cult leader grandfather and an exorcist mother, he developed a fascination with magic, faith, and philosophy—an eclectic mix that underpins his stories. Most recently, he was a finalist in the Screencraft Drama Competition, NYC Midnight Screenwriting, and Filmmatic Horror Screenplay Awards. He has spent years working for Hallmark’s digital streaming services, honing the art of “happily ever after” just enough to flip it into “horrifyingly ever after.” Now residing in Bowie, Texas—home of the world’s largest Bowie knife—he continues to craft narratives where love and madness collide, and victory means staring into the abyss with defiant clarity—until the abyss blinks.
