Semifinalist, 2026/2027 Top Tier Competition
BIO
Kasi Brown is an LA-based screenwriter specializing in high-concept comedies rooted in the spirit of '90s blockbusters. She honed her comedic voice doing improv at UCB, drawing on outsider experiences growing up LGBTQ+ in Kansas to tell stories about underdogs in outrageous situations, a perspective she brings to GONE DOGGY GONE, an award-winning feature she co-wrote and directed with screenwriting partner Brandon Walter.
Together they write bold, laugh-out-loud comedies that spotlight diverse human experiences blown up into popcorn-ready worlds-throwbacks to when movies felt bigger, brighter, and just plain fun.
Her work has been recognized in top competitions, including finalist for the PAGE Awards, Final Draft Big Break, and CineStory, and semifinalist at the Austin Film Festival. She was recently selected to the Pre-Rainbow Pages Mentorship Program and honored to make the Grey List (Top forty over 40).
When she's not smashing keys, Kasi works as an EMT. Her advice? Wear underwear.
