BIO
Gabriel Eby (he/they) is a Nashville-based writer of screen, stage and fiction. His primary interests reside in writing projects that use elements of genre, surrealism or obscurity to tell strange yet grand love stories, and he has a personal commitment to stories which revolve around nuanced depictions of LGBT/trans characters, neurodiverse characters, or characters living with mental illness/addiction. His compulsion toward tying in elements of love, depression and grief led him to construct THIS IS NOT A HAUNTING, an ethereal love story in which a man loses his lover only to find him at the end of his bed fifteen years later, looking as he did the day he died. He also used his own personal experiences with psychosis to write SLIPSTREAM, a horror feature in which a man is tormented by an omnipresent being existing in his own body and must try to break free. His works have placed in multiple competitions, including The Golden Script Competition, Vail Screenplay Contest, and ISA's Fast Track Fellowship; when not writing, he is watching movies at his beloved local art house theater, or hanging out with his partner and many cats.
