BIO
ELAINE PURNELL is a writer with a passion for exploring the strange spaces where the mind, the supernatural, and humour collide. With a fascination for psychology and an eye for the absurd, she crafts stories that blend the eerie with the hilarious, often using the paranormal as a lens to reflect on the quirks and contradictions of human behaviour.
Her scripts have consistently been finalists in competitions run by Stage32, ISA, and Screencraft and are known for their sharp wit, emotional depth, and an offbeat voice that finds the comedy in the uncanny. Drawing inspiration from everything from classic horror to dark comedies and real-world psychological phenomena, she aims to create characters and worlds that are as thought-provoking as they are entertaining.
Currently developing both TV pilots and features, Elaine Purnell thrives on creating genre-bending stories that linger in the mind long after the laughter (or chills) fade.
