BIO 

DAVID DEGUSTA earned his MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop in 2023 and was a 2024 MacDowell Fellow and a 2025 Yaddo Fellow. His short stories have appeared in well-known literary magazines and won awards, and his translation of an Ethiopian novel was published in 2025 by a "Big Five" publisher to excellent reviews. Previously, he has been a Stanford professor, an editor at Random House, a forensic science consultant, a technical writer at a Silicon Valley startup, and a fossil-finder in Ethiopia.
