Finalist, 2025 Roadmap Writers' Shorts Competition

BIO

CHRISTOPHER GUERRERO is a Latinx filmmaker from California’s Central Valley — born in Selma, forged in Fresno’s fields, and creatively sharpened in USC’s soundstages. Raised in a town where underfunded schools left students like him behind, he found power in storytelling early on, using cinema to confront injustice and flip the script on erasure.

Now 6'2" of genre-bending firepower, Christopher blends horror, humor, and hella heart into stories that punch up, dig deep, and haunt long after the credits roll. He’s directed for brands like Coca-Cola, Microsoft, GEICO, and Disney, and collaborated with icons like The Rock, Wayne Brady, and Jack Black. His work has appeared across Funny or Die, Super Deluxe, BuzzFeed, Paramount, and Roku — always threading sharp social commentary through mainstream appeal.

He’s a directing professor at USC and a labor advocate on the Adjunct Faculty Alliance’s union bargaining committee. His films and scripts have been a part of Slamdance, Austin Film Festival, HollyShorts, and Santa Barbara, and have won awards like the Deutsche Bank Frieze LA Film Prize. He’s been a fellow in programs like RespectAbility Lab, Ghetto Film School, FREE THE WORKS Residency, AICP’s Mentorship Program, and the CDDP Directing Program, and a Semi-Finalist for Stowe Labs.

Whether he’s building a mockumentary about ambulance-chasing lawyers (ACCIDENTES), smashing assimilation tropes in the meditation dome of a cult-y wellness retreat, or writing dark comedy sketches about blockchain ghost bros, Christopher tells stories that exorcise cultural ghosts — replacing them with something bold, brown, and undeniably human.

Still pitching. Still directing. Still sweating (literally and metaphorically). Always pushing forward — toward justice, representation, and the next killer set piece.
