BIO
Betsy Nagler is an award-winning writer and director based in Brooklyn. Since earning her MFA in Film Production from NYU, her work has included criss-crossing the country producing and directing documentaries (FLAT DADDY premiered at DOC NYC), and writing-, directing- and editing-for-hire on a variety of projects including animal videos for The Dodo, video letters for the TV show BLUE'S CLUES, and voter education videos in five languages she does not speak. Other activities from her daredevil past have involved backpacking by herself through Guatemala, Argentina and Peru, and 25+ years running backwards while holding a microphone over everyone from Carrie Bradshaw to Elmo as a boom op on movies, TV shows and commercials such as THE DAYTRIPPERS, THE SOPRANOS, POWER, THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, and all of the LAW & ORDERs. Her one-hour thriller pilot PRICELESS has placed in multiple contests, was selected for The Writers Lab and the Stowe Narrative Lab, and was on the inaugural Women's List in 2024. The proof of concept script for her feature screenplay, SHE DONE IT, is currently a finalist in consideration for funding in Get It Made L.A.'s 2026 From Page To Proof program.
