BIO

Anzu Lawson is a Eurasian actress, singer-songwriter, and writer born and raised in Los Angeles. She began her career in Japan as a J-Pop artist, landing a #1 single on the Japanese Billboard charts, before returning to the U.S. to build a cross-disciplinary career in television (The Blacklist, Chicago Med, NCIS, Law & Order) and film alongside actors including Al Pacino, Viggo Mortensen, and Christian Slater. Frustrated by the lack of complex roles for women like her, she turned to screenwriting, earning a certificate from UCLA and landing finalist honors from the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, Big Apple Film Festival, and Filmmatic Drama Screenplay Awards. She has also written and starred in acclaimed one-woman shows including Dear Yoko and The Rub. She is the creator of MOLLS, a female-driven Prohibition-era crime drama reclaiming the erased women of American history, currently a 2026 quarterfinalist in the Moonshot Pilot Accelerator.
