BIO

MATIAS BRANGER is a young Hispanic writer originally from Caracas, Venezuela. Arriving on Miami's summer shores at the age of eight, Matias has constantly been caught between his Venezuelan origin and his newfound American identity. Although originally placed in a program for non-English speaking students, he excelled academically and received several awards through his course studies. As a senior in high school, Matias sat on top of a National AP Scholar award, with a stellar 5.21 weighted GPA, and plenty of scholarships for prestigious STEM-based universities. All first-generation college students (and everyone he knew) let out a collective gasp when he decided to pursue TV writing at NYU Tisch's Dramatic Writing program.

His first play "First Steps" was selected to be part of S.P.O.T's one-act play festival, and is still used today by his professor as an example of sound structure. Throughout his stay at NYU, Matias has (somehow) managed to graduate in three years, while working part-time at NYU Stern School of Business and has been a Development Intern at several production companies. Currently, a talent agent assistant at Paradigm, Matias is urgently searching for opportunities to demonstrate his unique comedic voice. Self-titled as an "in-betweener," Matias adamantly believes in creating stories for those caught between cultures. His pilot "3.o.5," tackles these themes and provides a new exciting approach to language.
