Particularly Interested In

I have a broad range of experience and interests in film and television. I have the most experience in biopics, true stories, drama, comedy, romance and Christmas. That said, I have also worked on the script development of musicals, thrillers and horror. Digging in and finding what really makes a story sing is what I always have and always will be interested in.

I am open to any genre that a writer would like to bring to me. While some things may not seem to align with my background, I am an avid television and film watcher and would welcome the opportunity to stretch my creative muscles in areas that may not be as obvious.

More about Steven Woolworth

Steven started his career as an actor in NYC before moving to Los Angeles, where he shifted into feature film production. Soon after, he transitioned into TV Development at Sony Pictures Television and eventually found a long-term home at HBO Films. There, he was part of the creative team behind Emmy Award-winning TV movies including BAD EDUCATION, BESSIE, THE NORMAL HEART, BEHIND THE CANDELABRA, GAME CHANGE, and TEMPLE GRANDIN.

Steven also mentored and managed members of the HBO Access Writers and Directors program, which offered guidance, mentorship, and education to diverse creative talents. The program, focused on developing pilot presentations from script to production, produced award-winning projects that debuted at festivals such as Tribeca, the New York Television Festival, SeriesFest, and South by Southwest (SXSW).

After HBO, Steven became an International Scripted Development Executive at Reel One Entertainment (recently renamed Studio TF1 America), overseeing the development of films for international and U.S. markets. He collaborated closely with writers from the initial concept through greenlighting scripts for production. As an Executive Producer, he stayed involved through all stages—pre-production, production, post-production, and marketing. His films are currently streaming in the U.S. on services including Tubi, Plex, The Roku Channel, Amazon Prime Video, Pluto TV, The Dove Channel, Paramount+, and Peacock. Additionally, his films have aired on UPtv and Great American Family and are available in international markets such as Canada, the UK, Australia, France, Italy, and Croatia.
