More about Maggie Gottlieb

Maggie Gottlieb (she/they) is an award-winning trauma-informed comedy writer for film and TV, a script consultant, and a freelance copywriter. Based in LA, Maggie most recently worked on EXPLODING KITTENS (Netflix), three seasons of the Emmy-winning children's program TAB TIME (YouTube Originals), and served as Showrunner’s Assistant for three seasons of THE BLACKLIST (Sony). Originally from Chicago, she took the scenic route to TV writing, making extended stops to earn a master’s degree in art history and spend over a decade performing with renowned comedy institutions, including iO and The Second City. Maggie’s femme-forward writing combines humor and heart with a dash of magical realism and a palpable undercurrent of progressive politics. Her work has been recognized by Austin Film Festival, The Black List, Women in Film, Hollywood Fringe Festival, and WhoHaha.com.
