Projects with an international angle, specifically things set in a particular location where that location is somehow a part of the story. I love the idea of 'local for global', something that has an originality of place (and/or voice) that has the ability to reach audiences far beyond from where it originates. I want to help writers hold onto that authenticity whilst giving their project the best chance for international appeal. Specific territories I've had experience in include UK, France, Ireland, Germany, the Nordics, Spain and Australia (to name a few).
I have a commercially driven mindset when it comes to development so I'm most drawn to projects that are entertaining. Think the kinds of shows you can't wait to get home to watch on a Tuesday night or are eagerly awaiting to see in cinemas.
I speak French fluently, so would love to see French language projects. And also speak a bit of Irish and a strong connection to Ireland so that's of extra interest to me as well!
Things that lean too art-house or experimental, or are for a super niche audience.
I'm probably not your person for things that are super sci-fi-y. Totally appreciate the craft of these, but it's less of an area of expertise for me. Open to very grounded sci-fi but nothing very complicated. Same goes for fantasy - it's just less of an area of expertise for me.
Kellye is a film and television executive with over a decade of experience in development and production across film and TV, in the US, UK and Europe. She began her career at Verve Literary Agency before going on to work on the set of WE BOUGHT A ZOO for producer Julie Yorn. Subsequently, she worked for producer Zanne Devine and joined the newly reinvigorated Miramax film and television team. Kellye spent six years at Miramax, working on such projects as THE 9TH LIFE OF LOUIS DRAX, BAD SANTA 2, and I, TONYA whilst developing work with talent such as Ol Parker, David Wolstencroft, Max Minghella and Kieran Darcy-Smith.
In 2018, Kellye relocated to the UK to pursue her passion for international film and TV. She spent a number of years in London as a freelance development consultant and script editor with companies such as The Bureau, Headline Pictures, Vertigo, Brock Media and Popcorn Group before joining the Netflix international film team in 2021. Based out of the London office, she led development on projects across the UK, France, Germany and the Nordics, working closely with writers, directors and producers across multiple territories. Projects she worked on include BAFTA-nominated THE WONDER; the Danish music drama A BEAUTIFUL LIFE; SCOOP, the Prince Andrew interview drama starring Gillian Anderson and Billie Piper; the French shark thriller UNDER PARIS; and Misan Harriman's Oscar-nominated debut THE AFTER. Other talent Kellye worked with at Netflix include Mélanie Laurent, Omar Sy, Tom Kingsley, Jonatan Etzler and Babak Anvari. She also led development on Keri Collins's script SUPERGRAN, which topped the Brit List in 2022.
Following her time at Netflix, Kellye led development at Irish-UK TV indie Gaze Pictures, building the slate and developing projects with The Skinner Sisters, Fran Harris, Jess Ruston and Matt McDevitt.
Kellye now works independently across film and television, development producing and script editing on projects spanning the UK, Ireland and Australia.
Kellye holds a BFA in Film & Television Production from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, is fluent in French with strong knowledge of Irish. She is currently based in London.
