Karyn Folan

Harvard Law grad turned writer/producer, Karyn is the author of 26 books of fiction and nonfiction, including several successful ghostwritten books for prominent musicians and television personalities, including the New York Times bestseller Priceless Inspirations for Love and Hip Hop star Toya Carter, ex-wife of Lil Wayne. Her own work has been published by major houses such as Harper Collins, Simon and Schuster and HCI. Her self-published post-apocalyptic series Ashes, Ashes topped the Amazon category throughout 2017 to rave reviews. Ashes, Ashes was recently optioned for development as a TV series. Her other screenplays and pilots have earned honors in several screenplay competitions including Slamdance, Page Awards, the Athena Features Lab and the Blacklist Features Lab.

As a producer, she created the TV series Bluford High, based on the novel series of the same name of which she is an author. Bluford High is currently in development at Warner Bros. TV. She has recently optioned and is currently developing several comedy feature films. She consults with writers looking for help in completing and perfecting their work.
