More about Alison Tafel

Alison Tafel is a Colorado born, Emmy-nominated writer, improviser, and actor, who was most recently a producer on the hit action-comedy series TWISTED METAL for Peacock and writer on the GHOSTBUSTERS animated series for NETFLIX . Alison served as a monologue and sketch comedy writer and performer for THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON, and was a writer on the Netflix series BOJACK HORSEMAN, with her critically acclaimed episode "The View From Halfway Down" earning her an Emmy nomination for BEST ANIMATED COMEDY SERIES. (Ooooo la la.) Alison was also nominated for an ANNIE AWARD for BEST WRITING ON A TV SERIES for her BoJack episode "Feel-Good Story" and was a semi-finalist for the HUMANITAS NEW VOICES AWARD for her pilot A LITTLE MUCH.

Her television career began when she was one of six writers selected from 1100 applications to attend the LATE NIGHT COMEDY WRITERS WORKSHOP through NBC. Prior to that, Alison trained at the prestigious Second City Chicago in both the Improv Conservatory and Music Improv Conservatory, where she performed regularly at Second City and the Improv Olympic. Since moving to Los Angeles, she has improvised at the Upright Citizens Brigade, The Groundlings, and is currently hosting a reoccurring show called FRIENDS AND STRANGERS at The Outside In Theater in Highland Park. She is one half of the comedy duo SHARKS with fellow Second City alum Amanda Barnes, and has pitched and sold numerous pilots and screenplays. Alison is blissfully childless with her civilian husband Zach, and the two reside in Toluca Lake with their opinionated cats Story and Typo. Her manager is Brendan Bragg at Haven Entertainment. Her agent is Jennifer Good at Paradigm.
