Weekend Box Office Top Ten:

AVENGERS: ENDGAME is #1 for the second weekend in a row with another $145.8M (Million) to bring the domestic total to a stunning $619.6M, and worldwide now at a gigantic $2.188 Billion. This makes ENDGAME the second biggest film internationally and globally of all-time behind only AVATAR (not adjusted for inflation), and on track to become the top Marvel film ever domestically once it passes BLACK PANTHER ($700M domestic). While unlikely (but certainly possible) to either surpass AVATAR on the global stage or STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS domestically ($936M domestic total), this should have no problem at the very least finishing in second place all-time, an impressive achievement for the Marvel brand.

THE INTRUDER opened at #2 with $11M, an okay result in relation to its budget of $8M plus marketing, depending on how the film can hold next weekend.

LONG SHOT opened at #3 with $10M, a poor showing for this Lionsgate romantic comedy which cost around $40M and has garnered both critical and audience praise, which could translate into a better total if word-of-mouth continues strong.

UGLYDOLLS opened at #4 with just $8M for STX, which invested $45M plus a global marketing campaign, and animated spinoff series, into what it had hoped would become a successful brand for the studio. While it may yet perform stronger internationally, this is a disappointment for all involved.

CAPTAIN MARVEL slid to #5 with $4.2M, a domestic total of $420.7M, and $1.120 Billion worldwide as the Marvel smash winds down its run.

BREAKTHROUGH is #6 with $3.9M, and a total of $33.2M, a good result for this faith-based drama from Fox, and the first film released by the studio since it was acquired by Disney.

THE CURSE OF LA LLORONA is #7 with $3.5M, a domestic total of $48.1M, and $103.5M globally. Produced for only $9M plus marketing, this has been another nicely profitable horror hit for New Line/WB.

SHAZAM! is #8 with $2.4M, a domestic total of $135.1M, and $355M worldwide. Produced for $90M plus marketing, this has been another successful superhero film from DC/WB, and the launch of a new franchise.

LITTLE is #9 with $1.4M, a domestic total of $38.5M, and $46M worldwide. Produced for around $20M plus a modest marketing campaign, this should prove moderately profitable for Universal.

DUMBO is #10 with $1.4M, a domestic total of $109.7M, and $338.7M globally. Produced for $170M plus marketing, this is a financial loss for Disney, though mitigated by the studio's other successes and an impressive slate ahead.

Next weekend sees the debut of POKEMON DETECTIVE PIKACHU which may challenge The Avengers for the top spot, along with THE HUSTLE, POMS, and TOLKIEN all entering the marketplace.
