Weekend Box Office Top Ten:

FROZEN 2 stayed at #1 with $85.2M (Million), a domestic total of $287.5M, and a global haul of $739M and rising, as the long-anticipated Disney smash marches its way to the $1 Billion benchmark. At this rate, the film will eclipse the original, and will give Disney its sixth film this year to earn more than $1 Billion globally, with its seventh, THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, on the way.

KNIVES OUT opened at #2 with $27M, a total 5-day debut of $42M domestic, and a $70M global debut, far exceeding expectations. This is another nice win for original material, and will prove profitable for both Lionsgate and MRC. Produced for only $40M plus marketing, there is already talk of a sequel from Rian Johnson, as the film will earn more than $100M domestic alone.

FORD V. FERRARI is #3 with $13M, a domestic total of $81M, and an early $143M globally, with key international markets yet to open. Produced for $97M plus marketing, there is every expectation that this will be profitable for Fox and Disney, in addition to a serious awards contender.

A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD is #4 with $11.8M, and a total of $34.3M, with international yet to open. Produced for $25M plus marketing, the film is on course to easily reach profitability for Sony, as it is expected to play well through the month of December.

QUEEN & SLIM opened at #5 with $11.7M for the weekend, and a total debut of $15.8M. With a budget of only $17M plus marketing, this is on track to being profitable for Universal, especially with strong exit scores for audiences.

21 BRIDGES is #6 with $5.8M, a domestic total of $20M, and an incredibly early $22M worldwide with nearly every international market yet to open. Produced for $33M plus marketing, this is on track to at least reach breakeven range, but could also still go on to profitability for STX, which is only on the hook for half the budget and domestic advertising.

PLAYING WITH FIRE is #7 with $4.2M, a domestic total of $39M, and an early $45M worldwide, with most of international to come. Produced for $30M plus marketing, this Paramount title will hit the breakeven range, and should be profitable once the home market is factored in.

MIDWAY is #8 with $3.9M, a domestic total of $50.2M, and almost at the $100M mark globally. Produced for $100M plus marketing, this will still be a steep financial loss.

JOKER climbed back up to #9 with $2M, a domestic haul of $330M, and a stunning $1.048 Billion globally, as the DC Comics smash wraps up its run for WB as among the most profitable films of all-time.

LAST CHRISTMAS is #10 with $1.9M, a domestic total of $31.6M, and almost $68M worldwide. Produced for just $25M plus marketing, the film will finish its theatrical run having reached profitability for Universal.

Next weekend will be ruled entirely by holdovers, as the only new wide-release is PLAYMOBIL: THE MOVIE aimed squarely at families with the youngest audience members. Following that will be JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL in two weeks, tracking strongly for Sony.
