Weekend Box Office Top Ten:
BAD BOYS FOR LIFE opened at #1 with an impressive $68.1M (Million) domestic debut and an early $106.7M global, far ahead of where tracking had suggested and giving Sony another hit. Produced for $90M plus marketing, this will have no problem reaching profitability, with a fourth film in the franchise already in development.

DOLITTLE opened at #2 with $30M domestic and just $57.3M worldwide in a highly disappointing debut for Universal. With a production cost of $175M plus an expensive marketing campaign, this will be a significant financial loss for the studio.

1917 is #3 with $27M, a domestic total of $81.6M, and an early $143.5M worldwide. Produced for around $90M plus marketing, this film is showing tremendous strength during its awards run, and on top of being the Best Picture front runner, it is also on track to reach profitability for Universal.

JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL held at #4 with $12.5M, a domestic total now of $273.4M, and a global haul of $711M for Sony. Produced for $125M plus marketing, this has been another tremendous financial success for the studio.

STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER is #5 with $10.6M, a domestic total of $494M, and a big $1.028 Billion globally. The film will pass the $500M mark this week in the U.S., and is headed to a final worldwide total in the $1.1 Billion range, the lowest in the sequel trilogy, but still wildly profitable for Disney.

JUST MERCY is #6 with $8M, and a total so far of $21.6M for WB, a decent result fueled by strong audience response and critical praise, combined with the star power of Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx.

LITTLE WOMEN is #7 with $7.4M, a domestic total of $85.8M, and an impressive $130M worldwide for this drama. Produced for $40M plus marketing, this has already become nicely profitable for Sony, with more to be earned.

KNIVES OUT is #8 with $5.2M, a domestic total of $146.9M, and a hugely impressive global total of $277.9M. Produced for just $40M plus marketing, this has been a smash success for Lionsgate and MRC, with a sequel on the way. For Lionsgate, this will be another original franchise for the studio, following the popular JOHN WICK series.

FROZEN 2 is #9 with $5M, a domestic total of $466M, and a stunning $1.4 Billion for Disney, as the animated event picture winds down its run.

LIKE A BOSS collapsed to #10 with $4.5M and a total of only $17.5M for Paramount, heading to a moderate financial loss on the comedy.

Next weekend will see debuts for Guy Richie's THE GENTLEMEN, true-story war drama THE LAST FULL MEASURE, and horror film THE TURNING.
