If you said yes to any of these, then an Incubator is just what the doctor ordered! This brand new, four-week class will put you through your development paces and ensure that you get writing on the best foot possible.
In this four-week class, you’ll learn tips and techniques that will help you craft a solid genre script, which you can use as a sample to get staffed on many of these emerging shows. Whatever genre you choose, you’ll learn how to create strong, consistent mythology and a powerful, compelling protagonist. You will gain insight on how to use your own personal experience to craft meaningful allegories in a heightened world.
Jamie and Nick will work with each writer to make sure you have the necessary tools to create a great genre script, using insight taken straight from inside the writer’s room of one of Marvel’s most popular shows.
You'll work with them on outlining, character development to actually writing pages with their guidance.
The 4-Week Class will cover
Jamie King came to Marvel’s Jessica Jones as an assistant, and went on to write two freelance episodes and rise to Staff Writer within the first season, later returning as a writer for seasons two and three. His horror-comedy pilot Castle Rock won Best Teleplay at the 2016 Slamdance Film Festival. He penned the horror feature LIVESTREAM for Legendary Digital, and contributed material to a major video game title. ITV Studios has optioned his medical-thriller pilot Inpatient. He most recently worked as an Executive Story Editor on Season 2 of Impulse for YouTube Premium. He is represented by Circle of Confusion, where he has several projects in active development.
Nick Job is an actor, writer, and script consultant. He just wrapped shooting on David Fincher’s latest film for Netflix. As a writer, his scripts have placed at multiple festivals, including the Austin Film Festival. Over the past few years, he’s written coverage for hundreds of spec and sample scripts at Mandalay Sports Media (Chuck, Varsity Blues,) Ravendesk Entertainment, and the Writer’s Assistant’s Network. His consulting clients have gone on to screen at Cannes and attach top talent and production companies to their projects.
Immediately after registering, you will receive an Order Confirmation email that serves as the receipt for your registration. In the Order Summary section of this email you will find a link reading "CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS" that will take you to your syllabus, instructions for submitting material (if any), and the link to join the Live Class. Sessions are conducted via video conferencing software ZOOM. You will receive a link to the recording of the session via email following the live session.
Payment plans are available for most multi-week classes. For 4-week programs, your balance will be due the second week of class. For longer programs, the balance will be broken up into 3 or 4 payments with the final payment due prior to the final week of class. Please note that you are responsible for the full price of the class even if you decide not to complete the program for any reason.
You may cancel for a full refund up to 72 hrs. prior to the start of the class. Cancellations requested after this deadline will be ineligible for refunds.
