Do you feel like you have a whole host of ideas rattling around in your head but have no idea which one to focus on? Do you want guidance and advice as you prepare something new? Do you want a weekly meeting with tailored assignments to hold you accountable as you develop your next project?

If you said yes to any of these, then an Incubator is just what the doctor ordered! This brand new, four-week class will put you through your development paces and ensure that you get writing on the best foot possible.

In this four-week class, you’ll learn tips and techniques that will help you craft a solid genre script, which you can use as a sample to get staffed on many of these emerging shows. Whatever genre you choose, you’ll learn how to create strong, consistent mythology and a powerful, compelling protagonist. You will gain insight on how to use your own personal experience to craft meaningful allegories in a heightened world.

Jamie and Nick will work with each writer to make sure you have the necessary tools to create a great genre script, using insight taken straight from inside the writer’s room of one of Marvel’s most popular shows.

You'll work with them on outlining, character development to actually writing pages with their guidance.

The 4-Week Class will cover

  • World-Building and Mythology Creation.
  • Using metaphor to find "the real" within the heightened stakes of your story.
  • Creating strong goals, stakes, and arcs for your central and supporting characters.
  • Structuring your pilot episode to be both exciting and accessible for the audience.
  • Writing a strong teaser to effectively introduce the audience to your world.
  • You'll end the class with a rough outline for your pilot episode and a draft of the teaser scene.
