About Cory

After a lifelong interest in movies and television, Cory pursued his passion by studying film and new media at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he won multiple awards for his short films and plays, as well as receiving the Television Academy of Arts and Science's internship for comedy writing. With that, he was able to work in the writer's room of a Nickelodeon sitcom where he sharpened his knowledge of story structure and character development.

After college, Cory spent time as an adjunct professor in the screenwriting department at the University of Nebraska and helping run a children's theater. After his short film was awarded a table-read at the Sundance Film Festival, he moved to Los Angeles as a script reader for various producers, contests and fellowships before finding a job as an assistant at Levity Entertainment. There, he was able to blend his love of the creative with the practical business-side of the industry into a career he's strongly passionate about.

Cory's Script Tip: Make me care about this project by highlighting whatever the writer feels are the strongest elements.
