About Your Host

Molly Gendell is an Assistant Editor at Custom House, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers. Previously, she worked with a book-to-film agent at a small literary agency. At Custom House, she works on a wide range of fiction and nonfiction projects and is looking to build her list in literary and upmarket commercial fiction and narrative nonfiction. In fiction, she especially loves big sweeping family sagas, coming of age stories, historical fiction, smart millennial fiction, and upmarket thrillers. In nonfiction, she is interested in funny and intelligent essay collections, stranger-than-fiction historical true crime, memoirs with a particularly intriguing hook, and smart takes on pop culture. She's always on the lookout for fresh, diverse millennial voices in all genres. Molly has worked with a number of bestselling authors, including Christina Baker Kline, Lucy Foley, David Enrich, and Jacob Soboroff. She is a graduate of Duke University.
